A publishing company in King of Prussia is looking to expand their team by adding on a Senior Java Architect due to someone leaving from their Chicago office— they’re now looking to bring this person on in the PA office. They help their clients automate their publishing process by employing cost effective and scalable content management solutions. They have a global publishing client base and their 300+ clients include publishers, government organizations, media companies, and Fortune 1000 businesses.

The main responsibility will be to support the development of their data model, content transformation techniques, and the content management systems. They need someone to work on their flagship software and add on new features customized to meet each client’s requirements. This is a hands-on Java role with architectural and leadership responsibilities. Since this is on the Professional Services team, they need someone who will be able to effectively communicate with clients and lead the team of five. They also have a couple of distributed dev teams so you will also help them in the production and deployment of high-quality enterprise releases, provide mentorship, and conduct code reviews.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with Java (1.7,1.8)
  • Strong experience with Spring
  • Good experience with JavaScript
  • Good experience with jQuery
  • Good experience with HTML5/CSS3
  • Good experience with XML (XML parsing, XML transformation)
  • Strong experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP)
  • Good experience with Relational Databases (MySQL, SQL, Oracle)

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience with XSLT
  • Experience with CKEditor
  • Experience with XSD and DTD design experience (DITA, JATS)
  • Activiti or JBPM workflow engines
  • Automation tools (Ant, Gradle)
  • Experience with MarkLogic
  • Industry experience in the Publishing or Insurance domains
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
